Who can attend the Regional Competition?
Any registered chapter and its paying members are welcome to participate at the Regional Competition nearest them.
How much will the Regional Competition cost?
The cost of the Regional Competition is embedded in your initial Membership fee of $35.
Why can’t I register for a written event at the Regionals?
Written and Special Events are not performed at the Regional level. Students wishing to participate in a Written Event may do so at the Provincial Competition. It is recommended that all students participate in an Oral event at the Regionals, be it individual or in a team, simply for the experience. In the case that a student qualifies in his/her event at the Regionals but wishes to compete in a Written Event at the Provincials, they may do so.
What can be done to prepare for the competition?
Archives of past tests, event topics, and role plays have been provided to your advisor for practice and training for all competitions. These should be used for your self-initiated training. Practice role plays with a peer, teacher, parent/guardian, or sibling. Do tests from previous years to familiarize yourself with the style and types of questions asked in your category. Challenge yourself by doing tests from similar categories i.e. Financial Services and Accounting. Have teachers and parents/guardian review and edit your written work. Present in front of a mirror!
